Fitness Journey (Start)

Hello!

This will be the start to my fitness journey! I will be posting weekly updates every Sunday/Monday.

Here are my starting measurements:

33″ Waist – 41″ Love Handle – 44″ Hips- 26 1/2″ Thighs – 16 1/2″ Calf – 15″ Arms

My current jean size is a 10/12 depending on the jean style. Now it’s important to note that this sizing is for American Eagle. Every store and jean sizing is different and my sizing could be different somewhere else.

I will also not be weighing myself. I will just be going by measurements, how my clothes are fitting and my fitness improvements. I am trying to be more body positive so I am focusing on improving my health and fitness and not what the number on the scale says.

So lets talk about my goals.

Fitness: I want to be able to run an 8 minutes mile….I’m at 14 min right now. So that might take a while. I also want to be able to lift heavy and do one pull up to start. My other goal that is fitness related is to work on my flexibility.

Health: I would really like to just feel good and have a better relationship with food.

Physically: I honestly would love to be able to fit into my older jeans and just feel better in my clothing.

Now lets talk about how I am going to accomplish those goals.

Exercise: I will be working out 3-5X a week depending on how I’m feeling and what’s going on mentally for me. I will be doing online workouts, walks/runs outside, and using my Ring Fit. My husband and I will be getting some workout equipment with heavy weights and a bar so I can work on lifting and pullups.

Health: My diet mostly consists of eating vegan. I try to eat enough protein during the day as well as fruits and vegetables. I practice intuitive eating, so I only eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full. I’m also trying to limit alcohol as much as possible. With that being said, I will still eat sweets, junk food or have a drink if I want one. I’m trying to make this process sustainable for the rest of life or for a long period of time.

My hope is that by making weekly updates on how I’m doing or how that week went. It will make me more accountable.

I don’t have an end date or a time period of when I need to complete my goals. If takes me a few months, awesome! If it takes me a year, that’s fine too. I don’t want to force myself to get something done in a certain time frame.

I hope you’ll follow along with my journey!
